On June 12, 2026, the 10th Anniversary of the Pulse nightclub mass shooting in Orlando, Florida, was commemorated in the Castro with a community vigil at Jane Warner Plaza followed by a march. Orlando native and SF Pulse Memorial event founder Christopher Vasquez was among the speakers who also included Per Sia, Stephen Torres, Alex U. Inn, and others. The Castro LGBTQ Cultural District hosted the commemoration, which included a “Remember the 49” banner and the placing of flowers in tribute to the victims. The SF AIDS Foundation, Galeria de la Raza, and Acción Latina were among the participating organizations. More information about Pulse is at https://www.pulseorlando.org/
