Many Pride celebrations, both nationally and internationally, take place in early June. One of the most festive and family-friendly was the 2026 Utah Pride Festival, held June 6–7 at Washington Square and Library Square in Salt Lake City. It brought the community together under the empowering theme of “Pride Elevated,” reclaiming and reimagining the state’s well-known tourism slogan, “Utah: Life Elevated.”

San Francisco Bay Times designer Beth Greene, family, and friends were among the estimated 75,000–100,000 guests who participated in the bustling weekend event that is Utah’s largest LGBTQ+ celebration. It was packed with live entertainment from more than 35 local performers and an expansive market showcasing over 220 local makers, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. Beyond the lively music and diverse food trucks, the festival featured deeply impactful spaces, including the Transgender Day of Remembrance Memorial—presented by the Glitter Foundation—and a dedicated Youth Zone to foster connection for LGBTQ+ youth and families.

The vibrant energy of the festival set the tone for a month packed with statewide festivities, keeping the momentum alive all the way through to the Salt Lake City Pride events that will take place this weekend, simultaneous with San Francisco Pride’s Festival and Parade.
