The National Center for LGBTQ Rights (NCLR) on May 16, 2026, held the annual Champions for Justice gala. This year the event took place at The Conservatory at One Sansome.
The honorees included Paola Ramos (Voice and Visibility Award), Captain Gordon Herrero (Courage Award), the Golden State Valkyries (Vanguard Award), Layshia Clarendon (Voice and Visibility Award), and Jazz Jennings (Courage Award).
The emcee for the event was comedian and writer Irene Tu. NCLR Executive Director Imani Rupert-Gordon spoke, sharing the organizations recent achievements and challenges, while also outlining future plans.
