Juicy peaches, flavorful tomatoes, jewel-like eggplants, delicious watermelons, and sweet corn are just some of the produce available at Bay Area farmers’ markets at this bountiful time of year.
At the Castro Farmers’ Market, Rink and other San Francisco Bay Times team members admired the fresh greens mixes and tomatoes at Happy Boy Farms, and the colorful selections at Fifth Crow Farm, Jacob’s Farm, Allard Farms, and more. Get to know the farmers and where their produce comes from. Allard Farms, for example, is located in Westley in Stanislaus County that lies at the base of the Diablo Range and has a population of only 603!
