Lesbian Visibility Week 2026 will happen April 20–26, and Rikki’s in the Castro will be one of the key locations for events.

On April 22, there will be a night of Sports Trivia. This will offer a chance to try Rikki’s signature cocktails and mocktails, which are all worthwhile. Two of our team’s favorites are the Iron Maven—with bourbon, amaro, rosemary, vermouth, hibiscus, ginger, lemon, and aquafaba—and, on the N/A side, Twelve-Sixteen—with Pathfinder N/A amaro, pineapple, honey, and lemon.

The food at Rikki’s is equally delicious and, in our team’s view, worthy of Michelin Bib Gourmet status. (That is a prestigious rating by the Michelin Guide highlighting restaurants that serve high-quality food at a great value.) Clearly a tremendous amount of care and thought has gone into each dish at Rikki’s. The meatloaf here is like the ratatouille in the 2007 Disney film of the same name in that it’s inherently humble and nostalgic, yet the Rikki’s version takes it to another level. It is ultra-moist, savory, and wrapped with bacon. The accompanying creamy mashed potatoes and brown butter-roasted carrots set it off perfectly.
On April 24, the San Francisco Bay Times and Rikki’s will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Dykes on Bikes®. See the ad in this issue for more information and prepare to quench your thirst with the Beer Bust (N/A option provided) DOB fundraiser and with other quality beverages. Come hungry too, given how Rikki’s is evolving into a destination restaurant on top of everything else that it has to offer.
There will then be a Taco Eating Contest on April 25 with both meat and vegetarian options. If the tacos are anything like the rest of the menu choices at Rikki’s, it will be easy to consume a lot of them with ravenous glee. (Somehow, that sounds like a Freudian slip with the previous 2025 pie-eating contest winner in mind.) Suffice it to say, there is always a good time to be had at Rikki’s, and especially during what will be its first celebration of Lesbian Visibility Week. https://www.rikkisbarsf.com/
