San Francisco Giants Pride Night 2026 at Oracle Park: Fireworks on and Off the Field

The annual San Francisco Giants Pride Night at Oracle Park took place on June 12, 2026, with the intention of celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. The game and subsequent events sparked a national debate when three pitchers—starter Landen Roupp and relievers JT Brubaker and Ryan Walker—wrote Bible verses on their specialized caps, while Sam Hentges opted to wear a regular cap without the Pride-themed logo. The verses from Genesis have been used by some conservative Christians to “reclaim” the rainbow as a religious symbol.

The Chicago Cubs decisively won the game 5–1, but with that and the controversy aside, the game and activations included a Vow Renewal Ceremony hosted by Peaches Christ, Guest DJ Juanita MORE!, a Ceremonial First Pitch presented by Gilead’s Ellie Shafer, The GLIDE Ensemble performing the National Anthem, and an appearance by Per Sia.

Throughout the evening, the stadium lit up in bold rainbow colors while Pride anthems played. Post-game fireworks were choreographed to additional Pride music and displayed rainbow colors as well.
