    SF State’s Dean of Ethnic Studies Speaks on the Opening Night of the Tokyo Olympics

    Dr. Amy Sueyoshi, the Dean of the College of Ethnic Studies at San Francisco State University, was among the guest speakers at Divas & Drinks @ The Academy “Go for Gold” event on July 23, 2021. The event, hosted by Donna Sachet, celebrated the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, with the opening night activities shown on multiple screens throughout the venue.

    SF State is the first and only college in the nation that houses the five departments of Africana Studies, American Indian Studies, Asian American Studies, Latina/o Studies, and Race and Resistance Studies. 

    Dr. Sueyoshi is a founding co-curator of the GLBT History Museum, the first queer history museum in the United States; and the recipient of the Willie Walker Award for service to the GLBT Historical Society as well as the Phoenix Award for APIQWTC. In 2017, she was a Community Grand Marshal for San Francisco Pride.
