Welcome to the 52nd Annual Castro Street Fair! We’re so happy to have you with us for another day of community, celebration, and joy in the heart of the Castro.
This year’s theme, “Where We Belong,” reflects what the Castro has meant to generations of LGBTQIA+ people: a place to find community, feel seen, live openly, and connect with one another. It’s also a reminder that belonging is something we create together—where trans people belong, where drag belongs, where allies belong, where chosen family belongs, and where hope belongs.
Since Harvey Milk founded the Fair in 1974, the Castro Street Fair has brought together neighbors, artists, performers, local businesses, community organizations, friends, and allies. More than five decades later, that spirit is still at the heart of everything we do.
The Fair is also a celebration of the merchants and small businesses that give the Castro its energy and character. We hope you’ll explore the neighborhood, shop local, and support the businesses that help keep the Castro vibrant year-round.
Just as importantly, the Fair gives back. Since 1998, we’ve distributed more than $1.6 million to local nonprofit beneficiaries, supporting organizations that strengthen and serve our community. When you arrive at the Fair, we encourage you to make a donation at the entry gates; your contribution helps us continue that tradition of giving back.
This year, we invite you to enjoy live entertainment, local vendors and artisans, community organizations, and plenty of dancing in the streets. It’s a day to reconnect, meet someone new, and simply enjoy being together.
