Signs of San Francisco During the Coronavirus Shelter-in-Place

Public notices, signs, and other information posted at San Francisco businesses and other buildings provide a glimpse of the unprecedented measures taken to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus that can cause COVID-19. San Francisco Bay Times photographer Rink has been capturing images of these signs in the Castro, on Polk Street, and in other parts of the city just before and after Mayor London Breed’s declaration that residents must shelter-in-place beginning on March 17.

The recent photos captured by Rink include images that show the Midnight Sun, Cinch Saloon, Knobs, Brownie’s Hardware, the San Francisco Public Library, Walgreens, Subway, Staples, Orphan Andy’s, Harvey’s, Levi’s, Weaver’s Coffee, the LGBT Asylum Project, the GLBT Historical Society Museum & Archives, the Eureka Valley Recreation Center in Collingwood Park, Cheese Plus, One Half, Polk Street Florist, Bhoga, and the SEIU Union Local 2015 office.
