A dedicated team, including Juan Davila of the San Francisco Bay Times as the Easter Bunny, made possible another successful free Easter Dinner as part of the nonprofit Tenderloin Tessie Holiday Dinners series that has been going strong for half a century. The event took place on the afternoon of April 5, 2026, at The First Unitarian Church in San Francisco. Each guest was able to find their desired seat before being individually served a multicourse meal. Live bluegrass music further helped set a festive mood. Guests also received a free gift bag and the opportunity to obtain free clothing and a free haircut from LoveCuts.
While the next Tenderloin Tessie free holiday meal won’t be until Thanksgiving, there are a number of fundraisers scheduled before November. The next one will be a Beer Bust Benefit at The Eagle on May 24. For information about this, additional fundraisers, and more, visit https://www.tenderlointessie.com/
