We have devoted much of the latest issue of the Bay Times to the problem, with stories and advice shared by victims of the crisis as well as leading housing experts.
Our front page is a protest poster. The tide has to turn, because too many people are having their lives destroyed by, as Housing Rights Committee member Tommi Avicolli Mecca aptly puts it, a greedy and ruthless “real estate feeding frenzy that can only be described as out of control.” Even if you have not been Ellis Acted, you likely are connected to someone who has been evicted or who is under current threat of eviction.
