Jenn T. Grace of Publish Your Purpose

Jenn T. Grace, M.S., is an award-winning author, nationally recognized speaker, and a savvy publishing strategist. She is the founder of Publish Your Purpose, a certified B Corp social enterprise that meets the gold standard of socially and environmentally-friendly business practices. Here she shares more about this acclaimed hybrid publishing company that not only gives first-time authors the secrets to getting their books written, but also helps them find an eager audience and mark their place in the publishing world.

GGBA: Please tell us more about Publish Your Purpose and what your mission there is.

Jenn T. Grace: I run a publishing and thought leadership company that helps purpose-driven authors turn their ideas into impactful books and platforms. My mission is to amplify voices that create positive change, and my values center on integrity, inclusivity, collaboration, and meaningful impact over vanity metrics.

GGBA: Why did you decide to create Publish Your Purpose?

Jenn T. Grace: I saw too many important stories and perspectives go unheard because traditional publishing pathways were inaccessible or misaligned. I started Publish Your Purpose and The Institute for Author Growth & Impact to provide a more empowering, transparent, and supportive path for authors who want their work to truly make a difference.

GGBA: Who are some of your role models, and especially those who helped to influence your business?

Jenn T. Grace: I’m inspired by authors, activists, and entrepreneurs who use their platforms for good. Many of my clients are role models in their own right, and peers in the LGBTQ+ business community have also shaped how I think about visibility, leadership, and impact.

GGBA: Why did you decide to join the GGBA, and how long have you been a member?

Jenn T. Grace: I joined the GGBA to be part of a values-aligned business community that prioritizes inclusion and economic opportunity. While I am new to GGBA, I have been part of NGLCC (National LGBT Chamber of Commerce) since 2006. The values of GGBA feel like a natural extension of both my personal and professional mission.

GGBA: How has being a member of GGBA helped your business so far?

Jenn T. Grace: GGBA has expanded my network in meaningful ways, leading to new relationships, collaborations, and visibility opportunities. It’s been especially valuable to connect with other LGBTQ+ business owners who are equally committed to purpose-driven work.

GGBA: What advice would you give to someone who is thinking of starting their own business?

Jenn T. Grace: Start before you feel ready and focus on building relationships, not just offerings. Be clear on the impact you want to make, stay adaptable, and don’t underestimate the importance of learning how to talk about and sell your work with confidence.

GGBA: Is there anything else that you would like to share?

Jenn T. Grace: I believe books are one of the most powerful tools for change. When more diverse voices are supported in sharing their stories and expertise, it benefits all of us. I’m grateful to be part of a community like GGBA that helps make that possible. https://publishyourpurpose.com/
