2026 San Francisco Trans March and the Inaugural Trans Ally Rally & March

San Francisco’s annual Trans March, recognized as one of the largest transgender empowerment events globally, took place on June 26, 2026, anchoring the start of Pride Weekend. The day began at Dolores Park with the Señora Felicia Flames Intergenerational Brunch for youth and elders, followed by an afternoon resources fair and live stage performances celebrating trans joy and resilience.

At 6 pm, numerous community members and allies gathered to march down Dolores Street, eventually proceeding along Market Street and concluding at the historic Transgender District near Turk and Taylor streets. There was an official After Party at El Rio to benefit the TGI Justice Project.

Marring this year’s Trans March was the arrest of five people for alleged vandalism and assault. On July 13, organizers of the march and supporters rallied at San Francisco City Hall declaring, “We need real solutions for community safety—not police!”

The day after the Trans March, on June 27, the inaugural Trans Ally Rally & March took place. It was organized by Indivisible San Francisco in partnership with several major LGBTQ+ organizations. Kicking off at 10 am, the demonstration had cisgender allies and community members marching from Embarcadero Plaza through the city’s Transgender District to a rally at the Civic Center Plaza.

The Trans Ally Rally & March served as a direct response to political attacks and discriminatory policies targeting the transgender community nationally. Protesters demanded that Mayor Daniel Lurie fully fund local trans youth and housing programs, safeguard gender-affirming care, and honor San Francisco’s standing commitment as a trans sanctuary city.
